A linked folder is unavailable

The folder may have moved, been renamed, or be on a disconnected volume. In Screen Folders, choose Locate Folder and select it again. Your placement and appearance settings are retained.

Screen Folders are hidden

Open the Screen Folders menu bar item and choose Show All Screen Folders. You can also check the temporary visibility setting in Preferences.

Files are not updating

Confirm that the source folder is available in Finder. If it is, remove the Screen Folder and link the source folder again to renew its macOS permission.

Before reporting a problem

Include your Screen Folders version, macOS version, Mac model, and a short sequence of steps that reproduces the issue. Screenshots are useful after hiding private file names and paths.

System requirements

Screen Folders requires macOS 26 or later. The app is sandboxed and requests access only to folders you choose through standard macOS controls.

Privacy questions

Screen Folders works locally and does not collect personal data from the app. Read the complete Screen Folders Privacy Policy.
